Petal Paint

Draw a petal and watch a three-dimensional flower bloom

Open Drawing Tool

Overview

Petal Paint is a free browser drawing tool. Draw any petal shape and a three-dimensional flower made from that shape will bloom.

Round, slender, heart-shaped, wavy, and other lines create very different flowers. Stems and leaves are added automatically, so repeated drawings grow into a flower field.

How to use

  1. Open the drawing tool.
  2. Draw one continuous line in the shape you want to use as a petal.
  3. Release your finger or mouse. The line moves into place and transforms into a flower.
  4. Draw another shape to add another flower.

Easy petal shapes

Shapes with some length, drawn roughly from bottom to top, usually work well.

Try circles, drops, long curves, hearts, and uneven shapes. Width and curvature strongly change the finished flower.

Color settings

With Random Colors enabled, the petal, leaf, sky, and ground colors change each time you draw.

To keep your own colors, disable Random Colors and choose the four colors before drawing.

Drawing styles

  • Solid:Shows shaded, filled petals.
  • Outline:Adds an outer line so overlapping petals are easier to distinguish.
  • Wireframe:Shows the petals as a three-dimensional mesh.

The selected style applies to flowers drawn afterward, so multiple styles can coexist in the same scene.
